Holiday Haven Huskisson Beach

Very nice place we were trying to book a place overnight, on the website it said closed at 6pm by 5.30 the had switched the phone over to after hours.. which is mot professional, luckily we arrived b4 6pm and got a pitch ( I said are you nearly finished, she said 14mins and counting) location is great, there were only 3 pitches available that we could see, but used toilets and showers no problem irrespective of the amount of people staying there, good access via footpath to the local Harbour, there were a couple of nice pubs on the way for meals n drinks..

I had a great trip and the location is excellent!! My only complaint (although quite a big one as all my groceries required an oven) the “fully equipped kitchen” did not have an oven!!!! Only a small microwave for a family cabin that sleeps 8! It was very inconvenient. Bedside lamps would be a nice inclusion too and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. But I enjoyed the spacious balcony and bbq.

Be careful booking with this place. Their terms and conditions are deliberately ambiguous. They are happy for you to book and take your money. But when you get there to stay they will reject your booking if anyone in your group is under 18 and does not have their legal guardian present. They have little care that they have ruined your weekend and wasted all your fuel money to drive down the coast. I would recommend booking with a non holiday haven park as holiday haven can't be trusted. They change their terms and conditions after payment has been made.

A FAR CRY FROM A HAVEN. We camped at Holiday Haven Huskisson for 6 nights and the campground was hugely disappointing. We choose it because of the the amenities and location. However what wasn’t made clear was that the campground was in a different location - a bush area away from the from the main site - away from the beach, right on a major road and you had to cross a road and walk a significant distance to access the pool, playground and tennis court. The most disturbing aspect was the main road. We had constant traffic noice from a very busy road all day and through the night. Two nights in a row there were very rowdy locals roaming right next to the sites and on one occasion a man was screaming explicit verbal abuse at the campsite and mentioned owning a rifle. It was very disturbing, upsetting and with little children around I felt hugely exposed and unsafe. There was an unlocked gate for easy access for anyone right into the campground, and with such unpleasant people about it made us feel very unprotected. Needless to say we didn’t get much sleep. The toilets were rarely serviced - the mens bathroom had poo on the ground for 3 days before it was cleaned. When I called to complain the lady at reception told me I could leave and hung up on me. Our campsite was also surrounded by lots of trees and in high winds these were concerning. The one redeeming feature was that it’s in beautiful Jervis bay and close to a lovely creek which was wonderful for the kids. But overall a very unpleasant camping experience and we ended up going home early.
